BeingAnOnly™

BeingAnOnly™ was formed as a not for profit company in 2004, to offer resources and information for only children of all ages. Like the only child family, its physical size is small, but its scope unlimited, extending globally via the internet.

The company is based in London, England, where Founder Ann Richardson is a counsellor and psychotherapist. She has specialised in working with only children and, as an only child herself, has recognised the desire that only children have to meet and swap notes at all stages of life.

BeingAnOnly™ offers conferences and workshops in the UK and membership worldwide. The members' online community hosts a variety of discussion boards to encourage dialogue and the chance to meet, for adult onlies and their partners, parents of only children and counsellors.

BeingAnOnly™ is the hub of a network of only children and affiliated professionals internationally. It is stimulating a fresh dialogue beyond the tired old stereotypes and creating a wider family of 'surrogate siblings', who understand the specific needs and potential of only children.

BeingAnOnly™ has featured over the past three years in press and media:
